I first learned about the Catskills’ newest glamping destination, Treetopia, when I saw chef Moonlynn Tsai and actor Yin Chang on an idyllic weekend getaway there. Through the window of Instagram, I saw them cozy in an Airstream, cooking with local produce, and hiking in the nearby woods. The Hudson Valley is full of charming hotels and Airbnbs, but this Airstream option was news to me—turns out, it’s the first of its kind in the state. Owner Jenny Yu purchased the former RV park last year, and quickly modernized it with a village of glamping tents alongside the resident Airstreams. (The site also has hookups for those who bring their own trailers.) Fall is perfect for hiking around Catskill Park, or farm-hopping in the Hudson Valley—Yu recommends Story Farms in Catskill as a farmers market, and Fix Bros in Hudson as a pick-your-own place. For those who are driving back down to New York City after a stay, stop in Kingston for lunch at Brunette, where the gourmet hot dog and BBQ carrots will make up for any grilling mishaps you may have made earlier.
